St Augustine’s, Westgate-on-sea, Kent. The wedding of Elaine and Chris by Swinky Photography
This beautiful Twilight wedding started at 4pm on an almost-winter and VERY rainy day in October. It’s always a worry that the weather will mean no photos outside but for a change I didn’t mind! This venue is so beautiful inside and has so many photo opportunities to explore! So as the rain fell this evening wedding unfolded gloriously. I met Elaine & Chris at a wedding fair here at St Augustine’s over a year ago. They booked me straight away saying the ‘chilled’ and ‘quirky’ approach was a good match for them. I arrived a little early so began by taking photos of Elaine in the ‘Bridal’ room of the venue which gave me a chance to get to know the family. We had a giggle and I captured the nerves and excitement.
Soon it was time for Archie and me to get to the ceremony room and photograph a slightly nervous looking groom awaiting his bride’s arrival. he held it together quite well I thought… Gorgeous intimate ceremony in this beautiful room at St Augustine’s. I was so excited for the ‘confetti shot’ as it was the first time I’d ever photographed an indoor wedding that allowed confetti!
Next came the ‘coordinating’ (not posing) group shots and so we explored this incredible venue and ended up in the Chapel with all the guests! I climbed several flights of stairs and hollered to the guests below while Archie held the flash above… it was hard work but worth it… and also the only option as by now it was CHUCKING it down with rain!
Thanks so Chris and Elaine for allowing me to wander you around this building on your wedding day…. I’m so glad you love the photos! Thanks again for choosing Swinky Photography! CJ xx
